Crespi 1, St. Francis 0

A two out single by Alex Gonzalez chased home Austin Walker from second base in the second inning for the only run in a Mission League game at Valley College. Walker reached base on a two out bunt single that was thrown away at first base sending Austin to second. Ryan Brockett went the distance, out dueling Ethan Bramschrieber of St. Francis, to gain his fourth win of the season. Brockett allowed only two runners as far as second base, while giving up three hits, striking out three, and working four hitters past the minimum. Bramschrieber was almost equal to the task as he allowed three hits, struck out five, and worked five hitters past the minimum. Mike Hubbard collected the Celt's (10-2, 3-1) only other hit, a lead-off double in the third inning. Hubbard, however, was thrown out at the plate attempting to score from third after fly out from Kevin Williams. Crespi will now take a two week break from league play as they host perennial power Palos Verdes, in a double-header Tuesday. The first game will be played at Valley College and the second one is scheduled at Birmingham High School. (Pictured above is Ryan Brockett and pictured below is Alex Gonzalez.)
