This weekend will feature a couple Celts helping their respective
teams reach the College World Series. Kevin Williams ’10 of UCLA is at home this
Friday night at 6 P.M. on ESPN. Ryon Healy ’10 and Scott Heineman ’11 of Oregon
are at home this Saturday night at 8 P.M. on ESPNU. Tyler Johnson ’08, Josh
Mason ’10 and Mike Hubbard ’10 of Stoney Brook began play at LSU in an early
game on Friday morning. Currently, the game is into extra innings with a 4-4
tie and play has been suspended due to the weather.
Johnson is about to join a long list of Celts play in the
professional ball as well. He was just drafted to the Oakland A’s organization.
Jeff Suppan ’93 is a free agent and Trevor Plouffe ’04 is doing well with the
Twins in a new role. Double A features Ollie Linton ’04 and Sean Gilmartin ’08,
while Mike Gilmartin ’05 and Jeremy Rodriguez ’08 are both playing Single A. There
are twenty players playing in College and the professional ranks from Crespi
