Crespi’s CSF Students Visit JPL and Get Up Close Look at the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL)

Members of Crespi’s California Scholarship Federation (CSF) toured the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena on Monday, November 21, 2011. Not only did students learn that JPL was founded by a couple of Cal-Tech students who liked firing off rockets, but JPL is responsible for several current inter-stellar research missions including the exploration of Mars.

The timing of the tour coincided Saturday’s (November 26) launch of the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL). Crespi students were shown why this is the most ambitious mission yet and NASA hopes to discover if life ever existed on Mars. Click to read more about the MSL.

Carmelite Prayer for Veterans Day

God of peace,

We pray for those who have served our nation
and have laid down their lives
to protect and defend our freedom.

We pray for those who have fought,
whose spirits and bodies are scarred by war,
whose nights are haunted by memories
too painful for the light of day.

We pray for those who serve us now,
especially for those in harm's way.
Shield them from danger
and bring them home.

Turn the hearts and minds
of our leaders and our enemies
to the work of justice and a harvest of peace.

Spare the poor, Lord, spare the poor!

May the peace you left us,
the peace you gave us,
be the peace that sustains,
the peace that saves us.

Christ Jesus, hear us!
Lord Jesus, hear our prayer!

Amen.
